Caring for your Kantha Vintage Jacket– Hand wash only and then lay flat to dry.

We are happy to see that you are interested in vintage fabric, isn't amazing that we can give a new lease of life to old fabrics and salvage them from being dumped in a landfill?

Please be aware that the fabric used if for the cape is 100% vintage, which means that it will have imperfections, however we feel that is also what makes it completely unique.

The women artisans who make these vintage sheets use around 5-6 layers of sarees to reinforce the material, sometimes it is possible that the first layer is faded or frayed then you will see the layer below. They also patch and mend the fabric when required.

Sometimes it might look like the fabric is stained but it's not and the fabric below the first layer would be shinning through the first layer.

This vintage jacket cape started its journey a very long time ago. Sarees were collected from different houses, villages, cities – these are washed and then the creative process starts. These vintage sarees are cut depending on the color patterns each of them offers and then layers are stitched together by women artisans using a unique stitch and technique called – Kantha. >

This unique piece is a true heritage piece, passed on from one person to another and that chain goes on. This is our way to make fashion more circular with the help of our artisan herors.
