A kantha vintage bomber
Meet our reworked Bomber, made from layered vintage Indian sarees and brought together with Kantha stitching. A softer take on the classic silhouette, with a relaxed, slightly cropped fit and statement collar. Each piece is one of a kind. One size (fits up to EU48/UK20/US18).

The Bomber

A familiar silhouette, reworked.

This is a part of our Waste to Wonder collection — where existing textiles are reimagined into new forms.Made from layered vintage sarees, hand-stitched using the Kantha technique by the Bondutha community in Bengal.

This is a bomber — but not in the usual way.

Softer in structure, slightly cropped, and finished with a statement collar instead of the classic ribbed edge. It holds shape, but never feels rigid.

Easy to layer. Easy to wear.
The kind of piece you reach for without thinking.

Each one carries its own composition — no two are ever alike.

Care

Your overlay is happiest with gentle care:

  1. Hand-wash gently: Fill a basin with cool water and a mild, eco-friendly detergent.
  2. Swish softly and rinse: Submerge, swish gently for a few minutes, then rinse until clear.
  3. Hang open and dry: Press out excess water (no wringing) hang it flat to dry.

Every gentle wash keeps the fibers strong, the colors vibrant, and the stories intact—so your overlay can journey with you and maybe even the next generation, too.

Kantha: Old Sarees, New Stories

Ever wonder what happens to beautiful old sarees in India? In Sikra village and other small villages in West Bengal and bodering Bangladesh, they get a second life through the age-old Kantha technique.

Here's how it works: Hawkers collect vintage sarees from all over India. These sarees are then layered (at least 4-5 layers) to first make quilts. It's usually done by groups of women who sit together, chatting and stitching, turning these old fabrics into pieces of art. Their nimble fingers create patterns that tell stories - of tradition, of their village, of the fabric's past life.

Once they're done, our tailors step in, shaping these stitched-up saree quilts into wearable art. It's slow fashion at its best - and the best part? Every piece is unique, just like you.

When you wear our Kantha pieces, you're not just looking good. You're wearing someone's labor of love, supporting a village, and giving new life to old cloth. Pretty cool, right?
